We operate the Gleason Crankshaft Journal Welder — 1 of only 3 machines of its kind available in the UK. When journals are too severely worn for standard machining, we rebuild them by welding material back onto the journal before re-grinding to standard size.
When is it needed?
Standard crankshaft reconditioning machines to undersize bearings. When wear is too severe for that process, the Gleason welder allows us to restore the journal to its original dimensions — a capability very few UK workshops possess.
